Meet Mrs. Altendorf

Mrs. Altendorf

Mrs. Altendorf
I earned my BBA in accounting at Texas Tech University and my teaching certification through Region IV's Alternative Certification Program. My husband, Mark, is retired after working at HP for 27 years. My son graduated from San Francisco State University and lives in Long Beach California, and my daughter is a senior at Sam Houston State University.

I am passionate about teaching P.E. and health, as I love to inspire children to adopt lifelong healthy habits. In addition to teaching, I sponsor Kuehnle's environmental club.

In my free time, I enjoy camping, backpacking, hiking, kayaking, and jet skiing. I am an avid cyclist and plan to complete my eighteenth MS150 in April. This two-day, 180-mile bike ride raises money for multiple sclerosis research and treatment programs.

Meet Mrs. Koonts

Mrs. Koonts

Hello, my name is Carol Koonts and I am so excited to be apart of the Kuehnle Koala P.E. Department. Although this is my second year at Kuehnle, I am entering my 18th year of teaching. Here is some information to help you get to know me better............

Schools Attended: Haude, Strack, Klein Oak H.S., Texas Tech University, and Sam Houston State University

Since intermediate school, I have lead a life of juggling many different activities including drama, running track, playing the cello in the orchestra. As a senior in high school, God blessed me with scholarships in both track and orchestra. I ended up choosing the athletic route, but I always kept music in my heart. In college, I competed in the 400m hurdles (my specialty), the 800m, 4x400m and 4x100m relays. I even dabbled in the heptathlon on year. For 15 years, I held the record at SHSU in the 400m hurdles and I currently hold the 300m hurdle record at Klein Oak H.S. Nowadays, you can catch Mrs. Koonts running after little kindergartners. :)

Remember how I talked about keeping music in my heart? Currently, I play the keyboard and sing at my church. Occasionally, I play my cello in weddings or with the 5th grade strings. Is it your birthday??? I will make sure I sing a loud and embarrassing rendition of "Happy Birthday" to you.

In May 2015, I was named Klein ISD Elementary Teacher of the Year. That was such a huge honor. Click on the link below to watch the video.

Mrs. Morris

Hello! I am thrilled to be starting my 2nd year in P.E. here at Kuehnle Elementary.  I am entering my 10th year of teaching and love that I am back at home! I graduated from Kuehnle (many years ago!), Kleb, and Klein High School.  After graduation, I moved to College Station and went on to graduate from Texas A&M University.

Shortly after graduation I married my high school sweetheart. Steven and I have 3 wild and wonderful boys- Landon (7 years old), Caleb (4 years old), and Will (2 years old).  In my free time I love serving at our church, working out, and being active outside as a family.

I look forward to another fabulous year as a Koala! Please do not hesitate to reach out if there is any way that I can better serve your student and your family.
